Frequently Asked Questions...

If it’s not answered below, give us a shout — we’re no mind readers, but we’re sound.

Who we are, what we stand for and why every bean has to earn its place.

Brand & Beliefs

What is Belter Blends?

Belter Blends is a Glasgow-born, Scottish-owned coffee brand crafting bold, balanced blends for creatives, athletes and everyday grafters. Our coffee is brewed from high-quality beans of the Coffea plant — blended to keep you focused, fuelled and ready for whatever’s next.

Available as wholebean or ground to your preference and delivered across Scotland and the UK.

Simply put — our beans are pure Belters.

Is Belter Blends a Scottish coffee brand?

Yes. Belter Blends is a Scottish-owned coffee brand founded in Glasgow. We operate as a Scottish brand, with beans ethnically sourced globally and roasted by trusted UK partners, that we call our pals.

Is Belter Blends specialty coffee?

Yes.

Belter Blends is built on specialty-grade coffee, selected through blind cupping to prioritise flavour, balance and clarity in the cup.

We choose coffees for their structure, consistency and character — not just their price point.

Our focus is simple: distinctive, defect-free coffee that performs as well in a home setup as it does in a professional environment.

Are you Fairtrade?

Even better — we pay above Fairtrade prices for every bean. Always ethically sourced. Always sound.

What’s the Heavy Hauners Club?

It’s our way of backing local legends. We launch special collab bags and send 100% of profits to artists, musicians, sports groups and more. Find out more, here.

How fresh is Belter Blends?

Roasted to order and sent fresh to your door. None of that months-old supermarket carry-on or stale bags from coffeehouse shelves.

Grind types, freshness, storage and how to get the best from your brew.

Coffee & Brewing

Do you offer wholebean coffee?

Yes. All Belter Blends are available as wholebean for maximum freshness and flavour. Wholebean allows you to grind to your preferred brewing method at home.

What grind options are available?

Belter Blends coffee is available as wholebean or ground. Ground options include espresso, filter and cafetière (French press) to suit your brewing method.

How much does Belter Blends cost per cup?

When broken down properly, Belter Blends works out at roughly 30-45p per cup depending on your brew method and dosage.

That's comparable to — and often better value than — many speciality coffee brands once you compare bag sizes properly.

For context, a single takeaway coffee can cost £3-£7. Brewing at home with quality beans from Belter Blends gives you control, freshness and significantly better value per cup.

Premium doesn't have to mean overpriced — it means done properly.

Be a Belter. Brew better. Spend smarter.

How should I store my coffee?

Keep it cool, keep it dark, keep it dry — just like yer ex’s heart.

A kitchen cupboard’s grand. Avoid the fridge — beans hate the damp and weird smells. Seal it tight and you’re golden.

How long will my coffee keep?

We’re all about fresh belters. Drink it within a month of roast for the best punch.

After that? Still drinkable, just not quite peak performance — a bit like yer auld Da on a Monday.

Do you do decaf?

Not yet — but keep your eyes peeled. If you’re caffeine-free but still want a belter, it's in the pipeline.

Why does Belter Blends cost more than standard coffee?

Belter Blends isn’t built on commodity coffee.

Standard coffee is often bulk-produced and roasted for long shelf life. We prioritise blind cupping, ethically sourced beans purchased above market rates and careful roasting for consistency and clarity in the cup.

You’re not just paying for caffeine — you’re paying for:

• Higher-grade beans
• Ethical sourcing standards
• Fresh roasting
• Distinctive, defect-free flavour

And here’s something worth checking:

When comparing coffee prices, always compare bag weight.

Some brands price a 200g or 227g bag at what appears to be a lower cost. Our bags are larger, meaning the cost per cup is often the same — and in some cases even better value — than other specialty coffee brands.

When broken down per cup, Belter Blends works out at just pennies more than standard supermarket coffee — with significantly better structure, freshness and balance.

Quality in the cup comes first. Always.

That's why we can say every bean's a Belter — and mean it!

Delivery & Returns

Do you ship internationally?

Right now we’re UK-only. But if you’re abroad and pure canny wait for a bag, drop us a line.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Our coffee bags are made from recyclable LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene 4), which can be recycled at facilities that accept soft plastics.

Recycling options vary by local council, so we recommend checking your area's guidance for soft plastic collection or recycling points.

We prioritise packaging that protects freshness while reducing environmental impact and we continue reviewing improvements as better solutions become available.

What is your Return Policy?

We’re not robots — things can go wrong. If they do, we’ll sort it. Just don’t be a roaster about it.

View our Returns Policy here.

If your coffee’s not up to scratch or something’s gone sideways, give us a shout and we’ll make it right.

We're always up for hearing how we can do better — cheers for keeping us right.
